Recap 2010

Wow, seems like it was just not too long ago that I wrote the reviews for 2009. Gosh, time really does fly by so quickly yearly. And 2010 has been a dramatic year for me I shall say. Lots of things happened but overall it's bearable and I've grown so much stronger as a person. Even though that it's already 2011 in Malaysia but I'm in the States and I still have about 39 minutes to finishing up this blog entry to help me celebrate the 1 hr of 2011 in the cyber world.

I still vaguely remember what I did for the New Year's Eve last year, hanging at home of my parents and laying on the couch watching TV for the live streaming from Taipei countdown as I'm waiting for my favorite artist to show up for the New Year countdown and performance. Hmmm .... lee hom is still the best!!!

Well, let's see what I've done in 2010. I spent the 1st quarter of the year in Malaysia, spending time with my family and friends up till March. Then, I came back to start my traveling life and then found a permanent position that I liked, moved, switched division and got my promotion to be assistant nutrition manager, I couldn't be happier and thought that everything is just fine. But, out of the blue, I got a news that someone that I used to care about just don't think he's really "in love" with me anymore. Wow... what a blow to the face. But, I always believed everything happened for a reason and there's nothing much I can do about it. The show must go on.

Nevertheless, it's all in the passed and I've moved on and have never felt this happier and content with my life for years. Things had just gotten better since the breakup that I have enjoyed my single life going out with new friends and co-worker that I met in NYC. People here are rude but there's still some good people out here that are awesome to be friends with. Many many good things have come my way after September. For example:
1)I won an ipad ... everyone is jealous and yell at me cause I've only used it twice since I got it :p

2)I went on a kayaking trip with a friend that I've never thought I would do .... awesome experience.

3)I went to rock climbing for my friend's bachelorette's party. Tons of fun !!!

4)Went to Disneyworld for a short vaca to retreat and refresh. Love it.

5)Attended KT and Charlene's wedding, so beautiful to be part of this special time of their life.

6)Having tons of present from friends and co-worker for Christmas, and the Xmas eve party was a success.

7)I guessed the best part was able to meet a new friend when I went to visit my aunt in Oregon. Well, he's definitely the highlight of my year :)

This year end, I'll be taking it low key and enjoying the quietness in the house by myself, watching TV, drinking teas, listening to soothing music. Relaxing and doesn't have to be sandwiched in crowds and embrace the cold weather outside. Nothing is really special, to me, it's just another night unless I have a very special someone to celebrate it with.

Anyway, I'm wishing everyone a very Happy prosperous new year, wealth and health to my family and friends :) Hoping 2011 will bring more excitement in my life that I'm very looking forward to many happy news to share with you all.

Love,
Hui

New Soul

It seems we have all abandoned this blog site for quite sometimes and I felt like it's time to log in and jog down the little things that has happened since the last time I posted something.

It's Friday night and I'm just sitting on the Ikea lounge chair that I had, listening to Pandora (my fav online radio station) and this song called "New Soul" by Yael Naim (the chorus was used in imac thin commercial long ago) came on and the melody is very soothing and suites my mood at this very moment of life. I'm a new soul, came into this strange world of NYC, everything is exciting yet unfamiliar, my heart is broken but it's healing, thanks to my lovely housemate and really supportive co-worker that I have. I'm always truely blessed with good people around me to care for me when I'm lost.

I need to keep on exploring since one chapter of my life has closed and hopefully the new and exciting chapter begins. Moving on with my life and finding the things that makes me truely happy is what my goal in life without thinking too much about what the future holds for me. Everything happens for a reason and I do believe that there's much more important things for me to do and contribute to this society than to just sit and wait for miracle to happen.

1st step , I went out with Amelia for a Martial Arts class to learn about Jeet Kune Do (Bruce lee kung fu with wing chun) yesterday for a free trial class. Although it's intimidating but it's soo much fun and my whole body ache like crazy. Now my other co-worker might be going for another class with me and I'm pretty sure i'll be sore again!!! I know how to throw combinations punches now !!! Hahahha ... boys watch out !!!

Still not sure what my 2nd step of fun, daring adventure will be but it's going to be something that I can enrich my life with. I do really miss all my lovely friends and family from home. Till then, I'm going to enjoy the rest of my friday night watching TVB drama and then hit the sack!!

My New Life in NYC

Wow, it's really been awhile that I spend anytime checking up on our blog and see if anyone else has jot down anything about their life lately. Apparently not !!! Everyone else has been busy with their job and everything else that is going on in their life.

As for me, I have just recently moved to NYC --- The city that I would never thought that I will end up living, but here I am, staying here and working as an assistant nutrition manager in the local hospital. It's not the greatest facility compared to others that I have been to but LUCKILY all the people that work there in my team is nice so far, not much drama yet but I believe soon it will surface when I'm here long enough.

I wasn't quite used to the city life at first, got sick couple times but now it seemed that I have finally settled after about 7 weeks into it. Really can't believe that I'm here almost 2 months already. Time does flies !!!! And, I'm pretty sure I'm about to turn into one of those aggressive drivers in the city soon as people here are mostly RUDE on the road, and if I'm just nice, most likely I will never get off the road into the highway EVER !! LOL ...

I haven't really venture out much to Manhattan area yet coz the weather hasn't been cooperation with above 100 degrees daily and I just wanted to be a hermit crab and stay inside the house with nice cool AC air blowing at my face. Plus standing and waiting for subway underground will be like inside a sauna room, NOT COOL !!!!

That's it for now ... will keep on updating my latest! I hope you all do keep me up to date as well. Miss you all :*

My Traveling life

Oh gosh, it's been awhile since I last stepped foot into this blog and jot down what has been going on in my life. Can't believe one month already passed by since I last touched down in the America Soil.

Things has been hectic, get my license renew, get a car, reorganized my stuff, work, travel and bla bla bla. I was abit excited when they send me back to Johnson city, TN for my assignment because I've been there before and I love the GM and the operation manager there. However, this time, things are ugly between the dietary and nursing department - well, it has been going sour for awhile since I was there 2 yrs ago. Ugh... really don't understand those nurses, things they know it all and play pretend doctors. HATE IT BIATCH !! mind my language ... LOL ...

Then, my VP met me at work and said :" Have you heard the 411 ?? " and I was like :" WHAT's going on?" VP boss :" Well, i'm not going into details, you better get in touch with Bill (my boss)".
So, my boss (Bill) and I got together on the phone and here's the deal; The Big big BOSS, SVP don't want to keep so many people on traveling jobs anymore and even though they liked me, they said it's just to be on the safe side to try and search for permanent job and it doesn't have to be within their region. I was like :" YIPPIE" , i always thought that I needed to stay with their region since they sponsored my visa but apparently not. So, I have been actively apply for other jobs in NY and DC area to press my luck and see if I can get a promotion and some pay raise! Kekekeke :) So, after just couple days the recruiter called me for the 2 jobs that I have applied and I should have my interview within the next two weeks or so. WOoo WOoo .. I'm really looking forward to it but at the same time scared as it's been awhile since I last went for any job interview. Hahahaha

Anyway, it's been good for now as I have couple days to relax at Jon's grandpa's house in the woods, no one really bothers me and I can do whatever I wanted to do. Will update as my job hunting progress goes smoothly.

One Fine Night at Taipei-KL

Time flies...5 and a half month just gone at the blink of my eyes. tLeafs is flying back to her second home again and I dunno when we gonna meet and hug again...Quote dedicated to tLeafs "The nite when I hugged and kissed you goodbye...I felt like I'm 17 again~~~" =(

Well, I know her transit is at Taipei and so I online, trying my luck to bump into her in cyber world...And we talk and talk about all the crazy things again from our favourite idol to our new nick name...

Since we are the "Mua Chee's'", so hers is "toh tao" (peanut in Hokkien) and mine is "iyu chang" (fried shallots in Hokkien). The reason??? Well, it's obvious...they represent our character so well...

Toh Tao always looks so yummy and the shell looks so fragile BUT it's tough and crunchy (imaging hard/"chiak") and it might chipped your tooth and in worse case scenario, cost you your life if you are allergy to it...keke...

On the other hand, Iyu Chang looks crispy and yummy BUT not all can take it's smell...However, when you eat it, the 'hard' feeling no longer there and it just melts in your mouth...once you eat it, you'll love it... ;p

So, the lesson is Don't mess with Toh Tao and don't judge Iyu Chang by it's look...

P/S: This post is supposed to be dated 1st Mar 2010 but posted on 07Jul2011. Delayed more than a year due to errr...laziness???
